I'm a newbie so i am sure other people can answer this question more
intelligently. however, to put it simply, it does not "input data into
the a browser". the tool is based on HttpUnit which I guess can be
described as a http simulator.=20
=20
there is an open source tool called "Enterprise Web Test" that sounded
like what you have in mind.=20
http://sourceforge.net/projects/webunitproj/
=20
is there anyone who tried using Solex plug-in for Eclipse? (I am happy
with and sticking to Canoo but am curious) The fact it would write the
XML from sessions makes it tempting after writing many many many test
scripts.

Subject: [Webtest] newbie qs about Canoo webtest - is data input into

Hello,
I would like to use Webtest to reduce the mammoth hours our test team is
putting in.
I read the White paper and the samples, however was unable to answer a
very important question: Is the data input into the Internet Explorer
browser? or is it just a http simulator?
ie. I want (say) on the login page, the username, password to be input
into the IE browser and the Submit Button pressed, not a http 'post'
sent directly to the server.
Or put another way, Does Canoo use the java.awt.Robot class to input
data into the web pages? =20
thanks,
Anil Philip
