Unable to successfully run "installTest.xml" - my 'first WebTest'.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: WT-42
URL: http://webtest-community.canoo.com/jira/browse/WT-42
Project: WebTest
Type: Bug
Environment: Windows XP, SP1
Reporter: Graham Handisides
I've downloaded the zipped binary files from the Canoo site and have the va=
rious \bin, \doc and \lib directories extracted just fine and everything's =
looking good. I=E2=80=99m in the Command Prompt window with the cursor sitt=
ing at the end of a line that looks like this:
C:\Program Files\Webtest\doc\samples>
I type "webtest =E2=80=93buildfile installTest.xml" as instructed and here =
are the last few lines of what I see in the Command Prompt console:
"...C:\Program Files\Webtest\lib\runtime\junit.jar; C:\Program Files\Webtes=
t\lib\build; C:\Program Files\Webtest\libzbuild\clover.jar org.apache.tools=
.ant.Main =E2=80=93buildfile installTest.xml
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files\Webtest\l=
ib\runtime\ant/jar;C:\Program"
That is how it appears with the directory path seemingly having the "C:\Pro=
gram" coming after the rest of it and with the "/" between the "ant" and th=
e "jar" going in the opposite direction to all the others.
I've no doubt that this is a simple set-up issue as I got the same error me=
ssage when first running some Java applications, but adding the directory I=
wss running from to teh system CLASSPATH variable fixed it in that case. I=
t doesn't in this one.
Extra info: Java is installed and I can run applets and applications fine a=
nd have the JAVA_HOME and CLASS_PATH system variables set up OK (as far as =
I'm aware). I also have ANT downloaded separately, but I'm not sure that th=
is is necessary as I got the impression the necessary files to install Cano=
o's Webtest were all contained in the binary downloads.
