Yes, you can.
The feature is poorly documented, and requires that you write java  
code, but there is a step 'appletRunner' just for that.
In short, appletRunner execute a small test scenario against your  
applet. The test scenario is written in java and uses jemmy to access  
the GUI elements of the applet.
