I especially like that one :-)

Honestly, we can use the 1.7 release to see how we
feel with this approach:
- collect issues for 1.7 over let's say the next
  two weeks
- then we work on the issues until everything is
  closed and draw the release.
  Meanwhile, all new issues will be assigned to
  1.8 or later.
- trow a big (virtual?) party !
