verifyXPath fails with "bgcolor" attribute

The following XPath expressions matches no nodes in Webtest:

<verifyXPath xpath="//td[@bgcolor='#fcf095']" />

Using the Firefox extension XPath Checker, this expression yields more than one hit. Using another attribute like height however works. It seems like the bgcolor attribute is not evaluated?
