Issue with malformed html using canoo web test

We found that if the html contains <A>...</a> tags then the <verifyXpath>
doesnt seem to work fine since the html is malformed and not proper xhtml.
If we integrate JTidy Tidy.jar file in webtest.home\lib, would we be able to 
address this issue and if so, could you list the steps which needs to be taken to
achieve this.
