[Webtest] NoHttpResponseException ... how to handle/explain it?

Hello,

I have experienced the same problems that are described in this issue:
http://webtest-community.canoo.com/jira/browse/WT-296

The reason why I am writing into the group is I would like to discuss it a
bit further. To sum up ... running the same test again and again there are
random occurences of the NoHttpResponseException, that fails the test. The
tricky thing is it always fails on a different place of the very same test
i.e. the occurence of the exception is not driven by the test or the
content or availability of the web pages, but by some other reason. I
would like to understand it but I only have those ideas:

- the tested server fails to serve the Canoo tests because the requests
come very fast one after another (very unlikely IMHO)
- the server that hosts Canoo loses the sync due to the fact it is not
powerfull enough HW ... I suspect this migh be the case as the frequency
of the exceptions have gone up for example in case I switch from ERROR to
DEBUG level logging ...
- there is some setup / configuration on Canoo, HTMLUnit, Linux/Windows
that I and the reporter of the above issue have missed and the behavior
could be fixed and explained changing something in my env

Please, any thoughts on this will be very helpfull,
